Title: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Position: Feline Veterinarian
Highlights:

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a vet. Growing up without pets, I would invite myself over to friends' houses just to hang out with their animals (much to their dismay). My love for animals eventually turned into a deep appreciation for the connections I get to build with my clients. I love being able to educate people on how to care for their furry family members.

As a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, working at a cat-only clinic has always been my dream. When I moved to Melbourne from Canada, I did some research and came across The Cat Doctors. I was immediately drawn to the team’s expertise and experience and knew I had to be a part of it.

When it comes to the cats I see, my goal is always to make their visits as stress-free as possible while still giving them top-notch care. Most cats don’t love going to the vet, so I make it my mission to make the experience as comfortable as I can, while also taking the time to learn about their unique personalities from their owners. Every cat has its quirks, and I love hearing about them!

My family back in Canada includes my two beloved cats. Oreo is my 16-year-old tuxedo girl who I adopted when I graduated from high school. She is sweet to everyone - except other animals! She’s the only grandcat living with my parents. My other cat, Sera, is a 7-year-old British Shorthair who was surrendered for inappropriate urination. She is a little diva who screams about every slight annoyance and only wants attention when she decides, but I still shower her with love, even if she’s yelling at me the whole time.

Before Oreo came into my life, I was very much a dog person, but my parents wouldn’t let me adopt one, so we compromised with her. I always say she chose me when she jumped onto the table and started grooming me immediately at the adoption center. She’s been by my side through so many of my life’s ups and downs, and she’s truly the love of my life. Sera brings so much laughter into my world - she’s one of the funniest characters I’ve ever met. I just can’t help but kiss her little face, even if she’d rather I give her treats.

When I’m not caring for cats, I’m usually indulging my creative side as a digital illustrator. If I hadn’t become a vet, I think I would have pursued a career in art. I’ve tabled at artists’ alleys back home and even created a cat-themed infographic zine. I’m also an avid hiker and backpacker, and I’m excited to explore the Australian outdoors. But, I will admit - I’ve never met a huntsman spider, and I’m hoping to keep it that way!

Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with cats and their owners. I love building those connections and making every cat's visit as positive as possible. They really are family!
