Working in the veterinary profession as a nurse has always been a natural fit for me. I have always loved animals and grew up being surrounded by a menagerie of sorts which included several German Shepherds and a Ridgeback cross, horses, cows and a multitude of sheep. However, I didn’t take the most straight forward path into veterinary nursing as I studied journalism and worked at a country newspaper after high school. While volunteering in the cattery and in the barn at the Burwood RSPCA, I decided to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and discovered what veterinary nursing was and the profession immediately resonated with me.
Now that I have spent some time in the veterinary industry, I have come to discover my love of felines and interest in feline medicine. I love how every cat has their own unique personality and quirks (I see this in my own furbabies). I want to help every cat I meet and give their owners peace of mind. I know how stressful it can be to bring your pet to the vet and I want to make the experience as pleasant as possible for both the pet and owner.
I live with my fiancé and my two Siberian cats Doja Cat and Kendrick La Meow, who are half brother and sister. My cats honestly mean the world to me and I love coming home to them every day. My house is a cat playground with built in platforms, trees and hidey holes and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In my spare time, you can find me at a yoga class or out for a run along the Merri Creek trail (if I am motivated enough). I also love riding horses and equestrian evented when I was younger.
