I have loved animals for as long as I can remember, and they are woven through many of my earliest memories. By the time I was a teenager, I had somehow convinced my parents (who had never owned animals before) to embrace life on a small hobby farm. We shared our home with ducks, cats, dogs, sheep, and even a horse. There was also a goat, although it escaped after 24 hours and was never seen again, so I like to think I'm a much better cat owner than goat owner!

Throughout my career as a veterinarian, I have always felt instinctively drawn to cats. I find them incredibly calming and almost meditative to be around. Their unique personalities, quiet intelligence, and the special bond they share with people have always fascinated me. Working exclusively with cats allows me to focus on what I love most and provide care in an environment designed specifically for their wellbeing.

My goal with every cat I meet is to honour them as an individual. I believe every cat deserves to be treated with understanding, patience, and compassion, and I strive to make their experience with us as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Helping cats achieve their healthiest, happiest lives while supporting the people who love them is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

At home, I live with my partner and our two cats, Aspen and Chess, who are the very best of friends. They bring endless joy, entertainment, and comfort to our lives - rather like children, but with significantly less mess!

Something people are often surprised to learn about me is that my mother is Icelandic, and I previously worked at the only cat hospital in Reykjavík, Iceland. It was a wonderful experience and one that further deepened my passion for feline medicine. I feel incredibly fortunate to spend my days caring for cats and look forward to meeting many more feline friends and their families.
